The house had very deteriorated cedar shake siding. Due to extensive prep work required (which would have included sanding the shake and replacing bad, cupped or curled shake), we determined that installing new siding would cost about the same as painting the old cedar shake.
Before we installed Alside Conquest Clapboard siding (antique parchment color), we stripped all the shake off the house, installed Tyvek house wrap and 1/2″ foam insulation board.
We also installed new soffits, trim, and gutters, then added burgundy shutters for accent.
Besides the great new look, the new low-maintenance Alside Conquest siding will look great for years and won’t require painting!
